Testimonials

Having experienced him from both sides of the desk, I can say with great confidence that Chip is a wonderful instructor. His expectations of students are realistic, well defined and consistent. His real-world experience brings a wealth of knowledge into the classroom that is soooo important. Pair that with his brilliant design, marketing and branding skills - Stellar instructor. As a manager, Chip functions much as he does in the classroom. He is fair, organized, and spells out his expectations with great clarity and follow up. If there are issues, they are addressed with compassion and a willingness to work through them together. If a tough decision needs to be made, it is made with his always present intelligence and caring nature and guides.

Shell R.

Affirmative Life Educator

I have known Chip for more than 10 years, and we have worked together for most of those years. He has a solid work ethic and has been a good mentor to his students in his graphic design education program. On one occasion I hired one of his students to design a logo for my local cycling club. He helped her create a great design. Chip is always on top of the latest changes in his field and incorporates teaching about those changes into his graphic design curriculum. Chip has an upbeat personality and I have seen him work well with other instructors and administrators at two different colleges. Chip is an asset.

Thomas P.

Professor of English and Communication

Chip is a focused and dedicated faculty member who not only cares deeply for his student and their success, but is also a highly effective administrator. I have worked with him to prepare and manage budgets for his various programs and he is not only diligent in completing all of the required tasks, but he also treats the institution's resources like his own - meaning he is exceptionally careful with how every dollar is spent. He is innovative in finding approaches to solving problems when resources are limited and is a team player when it comes to finding ways to make ends meet. In addition, there is not a better person anywhere!

Erica V.

Chief Financial Officer

During my time at Hodges University, I spent a lot of my time taking courses that Professor McElroy taught. The courses were always insightful and informative. Professor McElroy was always professional and would give me valuable critique on whatever project I was working on. If I ever had any questions or concerns, he responded back promptly. Some professors would take up to five days to respond back but Professor McElroy would either respond that day or the day after. By doing this, it showed that not only were his students important, but he valued their time and efforts. Even though I recently graduated, I feel like I could still come to him for professional or creative advice, and I appreciate that.

Mesha W

Graphic Design Student

I was an Instructor and Marketing Strategist at Southwest Florida College and had the privilege of working for Chip who was the Program Director for the Graphic Design Department. Chip ran the department with a steady hand and was a pleasure to work with. His exceptional leadership and management abilities were only eclipsed by his graphic design talent and eye-popping creative skills. He inspired his students and staff, led by example and patience, and overall made the work as enjoyable, positive, and rewarding as possible.

Aaron B.

Senior Software Engineer

Chip McElroy is the consummate teacher whose knowledge of product design and branding knows no limits. His work ethic is admirable, his administrative/managerial skills seem endless, and he is an all-around great personality to work with who has the knack of getting to the root of any problem - fast. The academic and business world has truly befitted from his marvelous skill-set, experience, and toolbox!
